La salle d\u2019\u00e9tude est alors d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e de son mobilier usuel.<br \/>\nLe bureau se devait donc d\u2019\u00eatre accueillant, fonctionnel, durable, facilement d\u00e9montable puis transportable.<br \/>\nPour que leur intervention soit la plus juste et p\u00e9renne possible, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ont d\u00fb recueillir les besoins des utilisateurs premiers et comprendre la port\u00e9e directe de ce lieu comme centre n\u00e9vralgique de leur \u00e9cole.<br \/>\nPar groupe de trois personnes, les vingt et un \u00e9l\u00e8ves de cette classe de rh\u00e9tos ont ensuite travaill\u00e9 durant trois cours de quatre heures \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de sept prototypes en maquette et plans \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle. With the aim of defining a project which would perfectly meet the users\u2019 needs and the constraints of the wood material, they presented it to our school\u2019s directors and supervisors and to a carpenter of the Centre des m\u00e9tiers du patrimoine \u201cLa Paix-Dieu\u201d.<br \/>\nDuring the following week, after a few necessary technical and practical changes, half of the class got the opportunity to build the selected project in the carpentr y workshop of the heritage trades center \u201cLa Paix Dieu\u201d. They were lent proper material to shape wood and were given valuable technical advice by a reputed carpenter.<br \/>\nExcept for the fixing screws and nails and the little stainless steel support tubes, the whole desk was made from wood. The arcs of a semicircle were crafted with the staggered joints sealing technique and assembled according to the mortise and tenon method. The trays were made of oak finish plywood panels, their edges and laths in oak wood too and the drawer units from white-painted MDF panels.<br \/>\nThe recycling of the materials also received careful consideration. The paintings, varnishes and wooden panels were leftovers from former projects at the heritage trades center \u201cLa Paix Dieu\u201d. Il est install\u00e9 dans la salle d\u2019\u00e9tude, au centre des diff\u00e9rentes ailes du b\u00e2timent et \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 directe de la cage d\u2019escalier principale.<br \/>\nCette salle d\u2019\u00e9tude remplit un r\u00f4le de zone tampon quand un professeur est absent ou pallie au manque d\u2019espace sur le temps de midi : elle devient alors le r\u00e9fectoire pour les plus jeunes \u00e9tudiants. C\u2019est \u00e9galement l\u00e0 que se rendent les \u00e9l\u00e8ves quand ils ont besoin d\u2019informations pratiques au quotidien car un \u00e9ducateur s\u2019y trouve en permanence.<br \/>\nLors des r\u00e9unions de parents, cet espace de travail se transforme en un bureau d\u2019accueil pour rediriger ceux-ci vers les diff\u00e9rents professeurs r\u00e9partis dans les locaux annexes.<br \/>\nCe bureau remplit les fonctions multiples d\u2019un poste d\u2019observation de la salle d\u2019\u00e9tude, d\u2019un bureau de travail commun \u00e0 tous les \u00e9ducateurs, d\u2019un espace d\u2019accueil pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves en demande d\u2019informations pratiques ou d\u2019attention, tout comme ponctuellement, d\u2019un bureau d\u2019accueil pour les parents.<br \/>\nUne particularit\u00e9 de notre \u00e9cole s\u2019exprime en fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e quand elle se transforme en une gigantesque galerie d\u2019art o\u00f9 la plupart des travaux artistiques des \u00e9tudiants sont expos\u00e9s. La salle d\u2019\u00e9tude est alors d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e de son mobilier usuel.<br \/>\nLe bureau se devait donc d\u2019\u00eatre accueillant, fonctionnel, durable, facilement d\u00e9montable puis transportable.<br \/>\nPour que leur intervention soit la plus juste et p\u00e9renne possible, les \u00e9l\u00e8ves ont d\u00fb recueillir les besoins des utilisateurs premiers et comprendre la port\u00e9e directe de ce lieu comme centre n\u00e9vralgique de leur \u00e9cole.<br \/>\nPar groupe de trois personnes, les vingt et un \u00e9l\u00e8ves de cette classe de rh\u00e9tos ont ensuite travaill\u00e9 durant trois cours de quatre heures \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de sept prototypes en maquette et plans \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle. Une pr\u00e9sentation s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e devant la direction, les \u00e9ducateurs et l\u2019artisan menuisier du centre des m\u00e9tiers du patrimoine \u00ab La Paix-Dieu \u00bb pour d\u00e9finir le projet qui r\u00e9pondrait au mieux aux besoins des utilisateurs et aux contraintes du mat\u00e9riaux Bois.<br \/>\nApr\u00e8s quelques modifications technico-pratiques n\u00e9cessaires, la moiti\u00e9 de la classe a pu saisir l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de construire le projet choisi, la semaine suivante, dans l\u2019atelier menuiserie du centre des m\u00e9tiers du Patrimoine. Ils ont pu b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier du mat\u00e9riel ad\u00e9quat pour travailler le bois et des conseils techniques avis\u00e9s d\u2019un artisan menuisier reconnu.<br \/>\nHormis les vis-clous de fixation et les petits tubes en inox de support, l\u2019ensemble du bureau est en bois. Les arcs de demi-cercle sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9s avec la technique de collage \u00e0 joints d\u00e9cal\u00e9s et sont assembl\u00e9s entre eux par le principe de tenon-mortaise. Les plateaux sont en panneaux multiplex finition ch\u00eane, leurs tranches et les lattes sont en ch\u00eane \u00e9galement.<br \/>\nLes caissons peints en blancs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en panneaux mdf.<br \/>\nUne attention toute particuli\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 port\u00e9e au recyclage des mat\u00e9riaux. Tant les peintures-vernis que les panneaux de bois sont des restes d\u2019anciens projets du centre des m\u00e9tiers du Patrimoine (Awap). Les deux tubes en inox permettant au bureau principal de reposer sur le second, proviennent d\u2019un manche d\u2019aspirateur.<br \/>\nLes \u00e9l\u00e8ves de rh\u00e9tos g\u00e9n\u00e9ral artistiques de St Luc Li\u00e8ge sont fiers de vous pr\u00e9senter leur cr\u00e9ation qui existe et vit gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 tous nos partenaires.<\/p>\n","en":"<p>Within the context of a Plastic Art class, the students at general art high school had one mission: design a re ception desk at their school.<br \/>\nThis piece of furniture embodies the door hinge of Saint Luc high school in Li\u00e8ge. It is placed in the<br \/>\n study room\u201d, which in the center of all the different building wings and with a direct access to the main stairway.<br \/>\nThis study room plays numerous roles in our school: it is used to super vise the students when a teacher is absent or to let the young students eat their lunch when space is missing in our cafeteria. It\u2019s also a place where students can ask for useful information to our supervisors, who are present permanently.<br \/>\nDuring parent-teacher conferences, this working space is turned into a reception office to guide the visitors towards the teachers divided into the different classrooms.<br \/>\nThis desk has thus various functions: as an observation post at the study room, as a common working desk for all the supervisors, as a reception desk for the students looking for practical information or care but also, at times, as a reception desk for the parents.<br \/>\nOne of our school\u2019s best features is our annual art exhibition, when this ro om becomes a gigantic art gallery exposing most of our students\u2019 art projects. For this event, all furniture is removed from the area.<br \/>\nTherefore, the desk had to be welcoming, functional, sustainable but also easily dismantled and transported.<br \/>\nFor their intervention to be as accurate and sustainable as possible, the students had to consider all the regular users\u2019 needs and understand the role of this place as the core of their school.<br \/>\nThen, in groups of three, twenty-one students of sixth grade had to work for twelve periods to design the seven prototypes on models and plans to scale. With the aim of defining a project which would perfectly meet the users\u2019 needs and the constraints of the wood material, they presented it to our school\u2019s directors and supervisors and to a carpenter of the Centre des m\u00e9tiers du patrimoine \u201cLa Paix-Dieu\u201d.<br \/>\nDuring the following week, after a few necessary technical and practical changes, half of the class got the opportunity to build the selected project in the carpentr y workshop of the heritage trades center \u201cLa Paix Dieu\u201d. They were lent proper material to shape wood and were given valuable technical advice by a reputed carpenter.<br \/>\nExcept for the fixing screws and nails and the little stainless steel support tubes, the whole desk was made from wood. The arcs of a semicircle were crafted with the staggered joints sealing technique and assembled according to the mortise and tenon method. The trays were made of oak finish plywood panels, their edges and laths in oak wood too and the drawer units from white-painted MDF panels.<br \/>\nThe recycling of the materials also received careful consideration. The paintings, varnishes and wooden panels were leftovers from former projects at the heritage trades center \u201cLa Paix Dieu\u201d.
