Pour rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 cette situation, l\u2019arrondissement C\u00f4te-des-Neiges Notre-Dame-de-Gr\u00e2ce souhaitait abolir progressivement le tron\u00e7on v\u00e9hiculaire longeant le parc Jean-Brillant pour agrandir ce parc jusqu\u2019au deuxi\u00e8me tron\u00e7on v\u00e9hiculaire adjacent et rejoindre l\u2019art\u00e8re commerciale C\u00f4te-des-Neiges.<br \/>\nPhase 1 \u2013 \u00c9t\u00e9 2019- Une transformation progressive<br \/>\nDans cette premi\u00e8re phase, l\u2019objectif consiste \u00e0 abolir une vingtaine de cases de stationnement pour \u00e9largir le trottoir sur la chauss\u00e9e. Passant du simple au triple, l\u2019espace pi\u00e9tonnier se voit s\u00e9curis\u00e9 par des installations temporaires qui les prot\u00e8gent de la voie v\u00e9hiculaire.<br \/>\nL\u2019architecte paysagiste s\u2019est inspir\u00e9 de la nouvelle image de marque de l\u2019arrondissement qui entrem\u00eale des lignes aux couleurs bleu et vert, clin d\u2019\u0153il aux lignes de m\u00e9tro et d\u2019autobus mais aussi aux communaut\u00e9s multiculturelles. Deux grands gestes marquent cette premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape, et guideront les prochaines : la conception d\u2019une famille de mobilier et le marquage ludique au sol.<br \/>\nDe nombreuses pi\u00e8ces de mobilier urbain permettent des am\u00e9nagements flexibles et interchangeables pour offrir une panoplie de variantes r\u00e9pondant aux besoins des pi\u00e9tons. Hiver comme \u00e9t\u00e9, les bancs, tables, bacs de plantation et pergolas participent \u00e0 l\u2019animation de la rue. L\u2019architecture semi-transparente et en hauteur des pergolas sert de point d\u2019appel tout en emp\u00eachant de s\u2019y cacher \u2013 un principe issu de l\u2019approche \u00ab Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design \u00bb.<br \/>\nLe projet propose \u00e9galement un marquage au sol, con\u00e7u par l\u2019architecte paysagiste. Attrayant et ludique et employant les m\u00eames couleurs, il propose des jeux de marelle, de labyrinthe et de spirales pour le loisir et l\u2019apprentissage des enfants.<br \/>\nPhase 2 \u2013 \u00c9t\u00e9 2020 &#8211; Concr\u00e9tiser une initiative participative et verte<br \/>\nEn souscrivant au programme des rues pi\u00e9tonnes et partag\u00e9es (PRPP) en 2020, l\u2019arrondissement s\u2019est permis une fermeture de rue compl\u00e8te pour \u00e9largir davantage le couloir pi\u00e9tonnier, et bonifier ses am\u00e9nagements ludiques.<br \/>\nL\u2019objectif de transformer la rue s\u2019inscrit dans une d\u00e9marche de d\u00e9veloppement durable. En effet, le passage d\u2019une rue v\u00e9hiculaire en plein centre-ville de Montr\u00e9al \u00e0 une rue r\u00e9tr\u00e9cie au profit des pi\u00e9tons marque un r\u00e9el geste \u00e9cologique. L&#39;exposition photo en plein air voit le jour en 2020 et se voit renouvel\u00e9e \u00e0 chaque saison.<br \/>\nPhase 3 \u2013 \u00c9t\u00e9 2021- Conforter le statut de promenade et de rue terrasse<br \/>\nAu cours de cette phase, le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 bonifi\u00e9 par l\u2019ajout notamment d\u2019un portail \u00ab Promenade Jean-Brillant \u00bb aux deux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s, le renouvellement des expositions ext\u00e9rieures, et l\u2019ajout d\u2019un panneau explicatif du projet par phase. Ces dispositifs marquant le paysage permettent \u00e9galement de conforter la vision durable et participative du projet. La firme MU, qui cr\u00e9e des murales, s\u2019est adjointe au projet en mettant \u00e0 profit l\u2019artiste de Roadsworth.
