L\u2019architecte ne fait pas exception et, concevant les b\u00e2timents comme autant de milieux de vie, il trouve dans la nature une indispensable alli\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>La nature est ma\u00eetre, l\u2019architecture, sa craie et du tableau noir \u00e9merge une \u00e9cole en for\u00eat\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Au moment d\u2019aborder ce projet d\u2019\u00e9cole, qui c\u00f4toie un tr\u00e8s grand parc largement arbor\u00e9, la nature, la for\u00eat plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, s\u2019est impos\u00e9e comme point d\u2019ancrage du concept. L\u2019intention architecturale premi\u00e8re fut de lui laisser l\u2019avant-sc\u00e8ne, le premier r\u00f4le : la for\u00eat s\u2019immisce dans le projet. Cette for\u00eat qui \u00e9veille nos sens et nous incite au d\u00e9passement devient, comme une \u00e9vidence, le guide de cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un lieu d\u2019\u00e9ducation, d\u2019apprentissage, de croissance.<\/p>\n<p>La nouvelle \u00e9cole secondaire fait corps avec la nature et s\u2019impr\u00e8gne de l\u2019essence du lieu. Les deux volumes sont dispos\u00e9s de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 rappeler la stratification du territoire, tandis que la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, alliant \u00e0 la fois transparence et reliefs verticaux, \u00e9voque le jeu de plein-vide de l\u2019or\u00e9e du bois.<\/p>\n<p>Si la nature et la for\u00eat constituent les pr\u00e9misses conceptuelles fondamentales du projet, la lumi\u00e8re et l\u2019\u00e9nergie qu\u2019elle apporte sont \u00e9galement mises en exergue dans sa conception. L\u2019abondante fenestration sur toutes les fa\u00e7ades et l\u2019int\u00e9gration de pare-soleil aux panneaux d\u2019aluminium de couleur bronze [agenc\u00e9e aux teintes du bois\u00e9] expriment avec finesse la lumi\u00e8re filtr\u00e9e et r\u00e9confortante qui traverse la canop\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Un sentier, un parcours<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s l\u2019entr\u00e9e, l\u2019usager est en for\u00eat : le carrefour biophilique [espace signature de cette \u00e9cole connect\u00e9e \u00e0 la nature] et les gradins, composant un espace public rassembleur, ouvrent les perspectives et affirment l\u2019omnipr\u00e9sence de la nature au sein du projet. Au deuxi\u00e8me niveau, cette travers\u00e9e architecturale se poursuit, incluant un auditorium et une circulation centrale devant la biblioth\u00e8que, vaste et lumineuse. Chaque lieu est en relation avec la nature, avec la grandeur et la splendeur de la for\u00eat.<\/p>\n<p>Abondamment v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9s, les espaces ext\u00e9rieurs sont autant d\u2019\u00e9chos du bois\u00e9 adjacent. De la place publique devant l\u2019\u00e9cole \u00e0 la cour int\u00e9rieure, en passant par une large ouverture en gradins entre le complexe sportif et le volume principal, tout est interreli\u00e9, imbriqu\u00e9, envelopp\u00e9 de nature. Au sein de cet environnement, l\u2019\u00e9cole et la for\u00eat ne font plus qu\u2019un.<\/p>\n<p>Sensibilisation \u00e0 la valeur de l\u2019environnement<\/p>\n<p>Inspir\u00e9e des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de construction passive, l\u2019approche architecturale a envisag\u00e9 le b\u00e2timent comme un v\u00e9ritable \u00e9crin offert \u00e0 la nature. Sa forme est parfaitement adapt\u00e9e au site et son int\u00e9gration, optimale. Architects are no exception, and by envisioning buildings as living environments, they find an indispensable ally in nature.<\/p>\n<p>Nature is the teacher, and architecture is the chalk and blackboard from which a school emerges in a forest\u2026<\/p>\n<p>When we started to design this school that bordered on a very large, wooded park, nature, or more specifically the forest, struck us as the obvious starting point for the concept. The original architectural intention was to leave the foreground wooded, playing the leading role. The forest was to be involved in the project and nature would inhabit the building. This forest that amazes us, awakes our senses, inspires us to push beyond our limits, can clearly be our guide in creating a site for education, learning and growth.<\/p>\n<p>The new secondary school becomes one with nature and is permeated with the essence of the site. The two volumes are arranged to echo the stratification of the landscape, while the envelope, combining transparency and vertical reliefs, evokes the interplay of solids and voids at the edge of the woods. The school sensitively adopts nature\u2019s language, embraces its teaching, and blurs any sort of boundary between the project and the forest it encompasses.<\/p>\n<p>While nature and the forest constitute the basic conceptual premises of the project, the light and energy they contribute are also highlighted in the design. The many windows in all the fa\u00e7ades and the built-in sunscreen in the bronze-coloured aluminum panels matching the woodland hues subtly evoke the dappled warm light that filters through the treetops.<\/p>\n<p>A Footpath, a Trail<\/p>\n<p>On entering the site, the visitor is in a forest. Biophilic Square [the signature space for this school connected to nature] and the benches create a public gathering space. They open up perspectives and assert the omnipresence of nature at the heart of the project. At the second level, this architectural journey continues, to include an auditorium and a central walkabout area in front of the vast light-filled library. Each area is interconnected with nature, with the grandeur and majesty of the forest.<br \/>\nThe richly planted outdoor spaces seem to reflect the adjacent woodland. From the public square in front of the school to the inner courtyard, passing through a wide, stepped opening between the sports complex and the main building, everything is intertwined with and enveloped in nature. Within this environment, school and forest are as one.<\/p>\n<p>Raising Awareness of the Value of the Environment<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by passive building design techniques, the architectural approach envisioned the building as a shrine to nature. Its shape is perfectly suited to the site and its integration optimized. L\u2019architecte ne fait pas exception et, concevant les b\u00e2timents comme autant de milieux de vie, il trouve dans la nature une indispensable alli\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>La nature est ma\u00eetre, l\u2019architecture, sa craie et du tableau noir \u00e9merge une \u00e9cole en for\u00eat\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Au moment d\u2019aborder ce projet d\u2019\u00e9cole, qui c\u00f4toie un tr\u00e8s grand parc largement arbor\u00e9, la nature, la for\u00eat plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, s\u2019est impos\u00e9e comme point d\u2019ancrage du concept. L\u2019intention architecturale premi\u00e8re fut de lui laisser l\u2019avant-sc\u00e8ne, le premier r\u00f4le : la for\u00eat s\u2019immisce dans le projet. Cette for\u00eat qui \u00e9veille nos sens et nous incite au d\u00e9passement devient, comme une \u00e9vidence, le guide de cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un lieu d\u2019\u00e9ducation, d\u2019apprentissage, de croissance.<\/p>\n<p>La nouvelle \u00e9cole secondaire fait corps avec la nature et s\u2019impr\u00e8gne de l\u2019essence du lieu. Les deux volumes sont dispos\u00e9s de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 rappeler la stratification du territoire, tandis que la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9, alliant \u00e0 la fois transparence et reliefs verticaux, \u00e9voque le jeu de plein-vide de l\u2019or\u00e9e du bois.<\/p>\n<p>Si la nature et la for\u00eat constituent les pr\u00e9misses conceptuelles fondamentales du projet, la lumi\u00e8re et l\u2019\u00e9nergie qu\u2019elle apporte sont \u00e9galement mises en exergue dans sa conception. L\u2019abondante fenestration sur toutes les fa\u00e7ades et l\u2019int\u00e9gration de pare-soleil aux panneaux d\u2019aluminium de couleur bronze [agenc\u00e9e aux teintes du bois\u00e9] expriment avec finesse la lumi\u00e8re filtr\u00e9e et r\u00e9confortante qui traverse la canop\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Un sentier, un parcours<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s l\u2019entr\u00e9e, l\u2019usager est en for\u00eat : le carrefour biophilique [espace signature de cette \u00e9cole connect\u00e9e \u00e0 la nature] et les gradins, composant un espace public rassembleur, ouvrent les perspectives et affirment l\u2019omnipr\u00e9sence de la nature au sein du projet. Au deuxi\u00e8me niveau, cette travers\u00e9e architecturale se poursuit, incluant un auditorium et une circulation centrale devant la biblioth\u00e8que, vaste et lumineuse. Chaque lieu est en relation avec la nature, avec la grandeur et la splendeur de la for\u00eat.<\/p>\n<p>Abondamment v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9s, les espaces ext\u00e9rieurs sont autant d\u2019\u00e9chos du bois\u00e9 adjacent. De la place publique devant l\u2019\u00e9cole \u00e0 la cour int\u00e9rieure, en passant par une large ouverture en gradins entre le complexe sportif et le volume principal, tout est interreli\u00e9, imbriqu\u00e9, envelopp\u00e9 de nature.
