Le nouveau b\u00e2timent d\u2019habitation de huit \u00e9tages s\u2019int\u00e8gre \u00e0 un ensemble abritant des habitations, des bureaux et l\u2019agrandissement du campus de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p>Le premier geste de red\u00e9finition urbaine de ce secteur enclav\u00e9 fut de le relier \u00e0 l\u2019avenue du Parc par une nouvelle art\u00e8re. Ainsi, affichant une paisible fiert\u00e9, le projet Vivre s\u2019installe en retrait de l\u2019avenue du Parc, entre l\u2019avenue Th\u00e9r\u00e8se-Lavoie-Roux et un jardin communautaire. Le rez-de-chauss\u00e9e est largement ouvert sur le quartier en revitalisation et accueille les espaces communs qui permettent la transition entre l\u2019habitation et la ville.<\/p>\n<p>ACDF propose ici une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation contemporaine du langage industriel, faisant \u00e9cho au site et en particulier aux b\u00e2timents \u00e0 la trame de b\u00e9ton expos\u00e9 des ann\u00e9es 60. Maxime-Alexis Frappier, le pr\u00e9sident d\u2019ACDF exprime bien les intentions premi\u00e8res : \u00ab Nous avons senti dans ce contexte que nous avions la responsabilit\u00e9 de concevoir un b\u00e2timent qui avait du sens autant avec l\u2019histoire du lieu qu\u2019avec les besoins actuels et futurs de ses habitants. Le projet construit offre \u00e9quilibre et coh\u00e9rence avec le b\u00e2ti environnant. \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019instar des b\u00e2timents monolithiques et standardis\u00e9s voisins, Vivre arbore sur ses fa\u00e7ades nord et sud une trame de b\u00e9ton expos\u00e9e avec un remplissage de briques et de fen\u00eatres, tandis que les fa\u00e7ades est et ouest brillent par leur dynamisme. La trame de b\u00e9ton de ces longues fa\u00e7ades est extrud\u00e9e; ce principe permet d\u2019ins\u00e9rer des espaces ext\u00e9rieurs sous forme de balcons triangulaires. L\u2019\u00e9quipe de conception met alors \u00e0 profit son esprit d\u2019innovation et de pragmatisme afin de transformer les d\u00e9fis en opportunit\u00e9s d\u2019architecture; cette fa\u00e7on de faire est embl\u00e9matique de l\u2019approche ACDF. <\/p>\n<p>Afin de limiter les ponts thermiques et de contr\u00f4ler la qualit\u00e9 de finition du b\u00e9ton expos\u00e9, la d\u00e9cision de d\u00e9velopper un syst\u00e8me de fa\u00e7ade et de balcons pr\u00e9fabriqu\u00e9s s\u2019est rapidement impos\u00e9e; d\u2019autant plus que ce cadre de conception syst\u00e9matique fait directement \u00e9cho au caract\u00e8re industriel du lieu. M. Frappier ajoute, \u00ab Il \u00e9tait important ici de concevoir la fa\u00e7ade de fa\u00e7on industrielle avec la pr\u00e9fabrication et des d\u00e9tails plus bruts \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet Vivre constitue un d\u00e9fi conceptuel, puisque qu\u2019il prend en compte, \u00e0 la fois, le caract\u00e8re industriel du contexte et le langage institutionnel et contemporain des nouveaux b\u00e2timents. La r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation de la trame de b\u00e9ton expos\u00e9e est une solution \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019un programme r\u00e9sidentiel dans un voisinage usinier. Ainsi, le b\u00e2timent ouvre le dialogue entre diff\u00e9rents langages architecturaux et \u00e9poques.<\/p>\n<p>Le b\u00e2timent se d\u00e9marque par la dualit\u00e9 entre son unit\u00e9 monolithique et le rythme harmonieux de la texture minimaliste issue de la r\u00e9p\u00e9tition d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments architecturaux anguleux ou orthogonaux.
