The Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de Montr\u00e9al\u2019s new Azur metro trains will soon come into operation. Along with the cars, the driver\u2019s cab\u2014a component of key importance\u2014was also redesigned. In developing their concept, the designers took note of the operators\u2019 concerns. They spent time in the cabs with them, observing their habits, and conducted an in-depth ergonomic study of their activity in order to design an operational environment that would optimize freedom of movement, comfort in a sitting position and access to controls.
\nThe cab\u2019s field of vision was broadened, and the workstation features state-of-the-art technology that allows for comfortable operation. The STM signature colour scheme dominates the design.
