And while not glaring, it has a strong formal presence. Kastella\u2019s C401 stool has all these qualities. This refined piece of furniture proclaims all the rich beauty of wood through its clean, sensual lines and seamless assembly. The only hint we have of a junction point between the seat and the legs is the interruption in the pattern of the solid wood grain. Apart from its machined brass footrest, the stool seems to have been sculpted from one single piece of wood in one single operation.
