Il met les activit\u00e9s sportives et de loisirs en \u00e9vidence dans une composition architecturale coh\u00e9rente et dynamique, respectueuse du\u00a0cadre b\u00e2ti existant\u00a0et consciencieux de la responsabilit\u00e9 environnementale que doit traduire tout \u00e9difice public.<\/p>\n<p>Le complexe rassemble un terrain de soccer de 95m x 57m pouvant recevoir diff\u00e9rentes configurations, une palestre de gymnastique, 13 vestiaires, une boutique et des bureaux. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9tage, on retrouve un caf\u00e9, une aire d\u2019observation, des gradins, des salles polyvalentes et des locaux administratifs.<\/p>\n<p>La disposition de deux grands volumes sportifs sur le site \u00e9troit a \u00e9t\u00e9 le principal g\u00e9n\u00e9rateur de la forme du b\u00e2timent. L\u2019agencement des volumes suit un angle discret, cr\u00e9ant un interstice qui laisse apparaitre une place publique en son centre. Cette disposition des volumes, a \u00e9t\u00e9 un d\u00e9fi d\u2019int\u00e9gration dans un secteur autrement r\u00e9sidentiel de faible densit\u00e9. De plus, la volont\u00e9 d\u2019inscrire le nouveau centre sur ce site afin de lui donner un rayonnement, une attractivit\u00e9 forte, et d\u2019annoncer le bouillonnement sportif des nouvelles installations, ont conduits les concepteurs \u00e0 placer le volume du terrain de soccer int\u00e9rieur \u00e0 l\u2019angle-m\u00eame du site. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 oppos\u00e9, le volume accueillant la palestre a \u00e9t\u00e9 plac\u00e9 en suivant l\u2019axe d\u2019implantation de l\u2019ar\u00e9na situ\u00e9 \u00e0 proximit\u00e9. Le reste du programme, compos\u00e9 des espaces d\u2019accueil, des salles polyvalentes, des gradins, du caf\u00e9 et des aires d\u2019observation, s\u2019ins\u00e8re autour deux ensembles, marquant un trait d\u2019union pr\u00e9sentant une \u00e9chelle plus discr\u00e8te qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re une variation de rythme subtile dans la composition.<\/p>\n<p>La volum\u00e9trie \u00e9pur\u00e9e du centre Claude-Beaulieu facilite la lecture des grands espaces sportifs \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur tout en r\u00e9v\u00e9lant au visiteur, dans son approche du b\u00e2timent, une richesse de textures, de jeux d\u2019ombres et de lumi\u00e8re.\u00a0Le choix d\u2019une enveloppe lisse et la mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 m\u00e9tallique des grands volumes, constitue une mat\u00e9rialit\u00e9 plus a\u00e9rienne et cr\u00e9e un jeu de profondeur qui contraste avec la ma\u00e7onnerie textur\u00e9e du volume inf\u00e9rieur. L\u2019alternance entre l\u2019horizontalit\u00e9 des grands plateaux sportifs et la mod\u00e9nature verticale de la partie basse, \u00e0 \u00e9chelle plus r\u00e9duite, g\u00e9n\u00e8rent un rythme juste dans sa composition.<\/p>\n<p>La mod\u00e9nature verticale et rythm\u00e9e des fa\u00e7ades est reprise \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur avec le rev\u00eatement m\u00e9tallique corrugu\u00e9. Dans cet \u00e9crin discret \u00e0 la teinte claire, l\u2019int\u00e9rieur des plateaux sportifs reste blanc afin de diffuser au maximum la lumi\u00e8re naturelle, et op\u00e9rer un contraste avec les espaces publics agr\u00e9ment\u00e9s de couleurs vives, inspir\u00e9s des maillots de comp\u00e9tition des clubs de soccer et de gymnastique.<\/p>\n<p>Privil\u00e9gier l\u2019apport de la lumi\u00e8re naturelle a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019une des assises majeures de l\u2019\u00e9laboration du complexe d\u00e8s l\u2019origine de sa conception.
