Culturellement, ce projet est primordial, car il permet \u00e0 des entreprises, des artisans et des professionnels de mettre en \u0153uvre des techniques de construction, de fabrication et d\u2019assemblage traditionnelles qui contribuent \u00e0 enrichir le savoir-faire architectural.<\/p>\n<p>Le moulin \u00e0 vent est construit en 1707 par le charpentier L\u00e9onard Paill\u00e9 dit Paillard et par le ma\u00eetre ma\u00e7on Jean Marset, suite \u00e0 la commande de Joseph Trottier Desruisseaux, alors seigneur de l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n<p>Beaupr\u00e9 Michaud et Associ\u00e9s, Architectes est mandat\u00e9 en 2016 par la SODEC, propri\u00e9taire du site, pour entreprendre des travaux de r\u00e9fection et de restauration. \u00c0 ce moment, le moulin est \u00e0 l\u2019arr\u00eat depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, une temp\u00eate de vent en a arrach\u00e9 les ailes et la faune locale occupe les lieux. Une analyse rigoureuse de l\u2019\u00e9tat des diff\u00e9rentes composantes est r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par Josette Michaud, accompagn\u00e9e par le meunier lui-m\u00eame, Normand Pigeon. Lors des relev\u00e9s, malgr\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9tat de d\u00e9t\u00e9rioration avanc\u00e9 de certaines composantes, on remarque la qualit\u00e9, l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 et la simplicit\u00e9 des assemblages de ces composantes anciennes. La firme recommande alors la restauration compl\u00e8te, privil\u00e9giant la r\u00e9paration et le r\u00e9emploi avant la d\u00e9molition, la greffe et l\u2019enture avant le remplacement.<\/p>\n<p>Ce projet de restauration patrimoniale est une rare occasion de reconstituer fid\u00e8lement des pi\u00e8ces et des assemblages traditionnels.<\/p>\n","en":"<p>This project is the result of a perfect equation between the immersive visitor experience and the preservation of traditional know-how. Every year, the site welcomes many curious visitors who come to discover the oldest mill still in operation in Quebec. This throwback into <em>Nouvelle-France<\/em> demonstrates the ingenuity of the mechanism of this small wood and stone construction, and allows visitors to be immersed by the sounds, smells and vibrations of the grains\u2019 transformation into flour. Culturally paramount, this project promotes the implementation and transmissions of traditional construction methods and knowledge by highly trained craftsmen and professionals, thus contributing to the preservation and the enrichment of architectural expertise.<\/p>\n<p>The windmill was built in 1707 by carpenter L\u00e9onard Paill\u00e9 dit Paillard and master mason Jean Marset following a commission from Joseph Trottier Desruisseaux, then seigneur of the island.<\/p>\n<p>Beaupr\u00e9 Michaud et Associ\u00e9s, Architectes was commissioned in 2016 by SODEC, owner of the site, to undertake its refurbishment and restoration. At the time, the mill had been at a standstill for several years; a windstorm had broken off its wings and local wildlife was occupying the interiors. A rigorous evaluation of the existing components was carried out by architect Josette Michaud in partnership with miller Normand Pigeon. Despite certain components\u2019 advanced state of deterioration, the quality and efficiency of the original assemblies could be recorded.
