It was possible to view and compare two approximately 12 X 12 in. print samples with colors printed on each product, while discussing the respective peculiarities. Color test strips such as these make it possible to validate in advance that the digital color matches well with the wall color.<\/li>\n<li>For a work on acrylic, the print of the artwork is produced on the back side of the acrylic panel, with an additional protective layer of black ink. If aluminum is chosen instead, the print is made on the front of the work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All artwork sizes and wall choices<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each panel of the work measures 32\u2033 high by 40\u2033 wide (81.3 X 101.6 cm). The total width of the work\u2019s 5 panels is therefore 200 inches (508 cm). The total surface area of the painting is 6,400 sq. in. (4.13 m<sup>2<\/sup>).<\/li>\n<li>Whatever the medium (acrylic or aluminum), the thickness of each technique is identical and comprises two parts: the printed surface bearing the work is de in. (3.18 mm), while the faux-frame at the back is \u00be in. (19.05 mm) thick.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wall mounting<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installation of the work is the customer\u2019s responsibility; this step can be carried out with common tools used for hanging paintings.<\/li>\n<li>The 5 panels making up the work must be hung on the wall in the sequence planned by the artist, in horizontal continuity, leaving a small space between each one. A layout plan is included.<\/li>\n<li>To hang each piece of the polyptych, first attach a wooden molding to the wall using a few screws, in the manner of a French cleat. These mouldings are supplied. The sub-frame at the back of the painting then fits naturally over the bevelled moulding fixed to the wall. Beforehand, documentation was created by the artist concerning a possible place for hanging the work (colors in place, furniture, photographs of the places, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>Considering that the technique used by the artist was possibly unfamiliar to the acquisitions jury, the artist provided the latter with written information and samples enabling them to appreciate the technique of digital printmaking on acrylic panel or aluminum.<\/p>\n<p>Concept of the work and the project<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The painting proposed to the City of Varennes is a single-edition polyptych composed of 5 digital prints of identical dimensions.<\/li>\n<li>The subject of the work is inspired by nature, incorporating a touch of abstraction and the imaginary. It is an exclusive original creation inspired by the omnipresent vegetation in the City of Varennes.<\/li>\n<li>The aim was to illustrate an immense, dishevelled garden, to express the dynamism and lightness of plant elements well integrated into the ambient surroundings.<\/li>\n<li>The work came into being through a fusion of realizations, both with the painter\u2019s traditional tools and with applications for digital creation with the computer and iPad tablet.
