The Lithium Complex North America<\/h3>\n<p>The Lithium Complex North America is expanding thanks to a recent investment of between $60 and $70 million, which has enabled Sayona to optimize production and carry out an environmental upgrade. In March 2023, the complex began production of spodumene to meet the growing demand for batteries in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Sayona is a company dedicated to the exploration and development of lithium deposits, the raw material used in the manufacture of electric batteries. The company is developing various projects, all of which are located in Quebec. In particular, it owns the Lithium North America complex, which went into production in the spring of 2023. The complex will become a centerpiece of the lithium cluster it hopes to establish in Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue.<\/p>\n<p>In Sayona’s development projects, the project to acquire an old wood mill to turn it into a new infrastructure for the 2nd transformation of lithium spodumen into electric batteries has been put forward.<\/p>\n<p>The designer’s first mandate was to fabricate the cohesion of a living space in a building that will be gradually inhabited, and to position the company’s brand image in this new space. The first two motivations: to receive investors and hold press conferences in an official location with global positioning! And the ultimate goal being the 2<sup>th<\/sup> transformation plant in the making annexed to the offices to enable Sayona’s positioning as a leader, notably through the creation of jobs and investments that will stimulate the development of Quebec’s clean energy sector, from mining to the production of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the mission was to provide a reception area and a conference room. Obviously, when you’re working on a project of global positioning and capital importance, it directs the seriousness of the overall fit-out and invites the company to position itself as a market leader. To this end, the reception area on the first floor had to be linked to the conference room upstairs, so the stairwell, upstairs corridor, washrooms and all functionalities were scrutinized to offer a true experience for employees and investors.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with a building founded in 1982 with a surface area of 20,000 m2 with an office portion and a factory portion to be transformed, the challenges were numerous to create a place of belonging and positioning as a creative company of the future while integrating the premises gradually. Considering that for this initial phase and for the first year of occupancy, only the common areas for receiving guests will be used on an ad hoc basis, and therefore no full-time employees will remain on site. To receive guests properly and solidly, it took a simple reception area to make guests wait before going upstairs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The reception area<\/u><\/strong> alone presented several challenges, since this zone was the meeting point of 4 corridors, so rather a place to pass through on the way to the exit. To create a distinct zone, we closed the doors to the 4 adjacent corridors, removed the suspended ceiling in the reception area and added 4′ of extra height to create a space with an industrial look. The entire design was brought to the fore by the choice of sleek, modern, high-tech materials and by reflecting the company’s image as the energy of the future!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The stairwell<\/u><\/strong> being the first passageway that invites people to head upstairs, this place had to be exceptional. At 23′-0\u00a0\u00bb high, the idea of creating a customer experience in the image of a mine was put forward! Like a mining shaft or a well, sobriety and dark colors dominated this place of passage. Strategically inserted directional light points have the functionality of safely directing people. On the central landing, a huge canvas backlit with a mineral, serves as the main source of illumination like an exhibition in a museum!<\/p>\n<p>A black stretched canvas on the ceiling with an LED surround follows the integrity of the concept to lose the perception of landmarks and thus feel in an exclusive environment! What’s more, the continuous lines of the LEDs are in keeping with the company’s common thread concept represented by their logo and slogan!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The upstairs corridor<\/u><\/strong>….an obligatory passageway on the way to the conference room. A refreshment was needed, and a few minor structural modifications to adapt a water station space was necessary for the functional side. Marketing identification is at the forefront of turning long, boring corridors into a place for positioning. The company’s brainding has been represented by a timeline, so that you can clearly see the sequence of events in a given period and see where the company is going! The flexible floor covering, featuring stone crystals, is patterned in 2 colors to create direction and naturally invite people towards the conference room.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The washroom<\/u><\/strong>…formerly an outdated space consisting of a toilet, shower and checkroom area, a transformation was needed to adapt the environment!<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished guests and company executives alike will be able to use this neat, functional space to extend the experience that reflects the Sayona mindset! To achieve this, the choice of modern, maintenance-free materials has been finely selected in a layout befitting the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The conference room<\/u><\/strong>…THE OFFICIAL PLACE to receive…investors, collaborators, journalists, distinguished guests and meeting place for the company’s executives, this one had to be proudly represented.<\/p>\n<p>Although the space was modest in size, the organizational challenges were obvious! We started by enlarging the ceiling height to an additional 4′. A carefully organized, industrial-look ceiling painted black, accompanied by acoustic tiles to manage noise reverberation. The entrance door was also designed to be majestic, going from a standard opening to the maximum that could be achieved, i.e. 42\u00a0\u00bb on a ceiling\/floor height! Fitted with a 36\u00a0\u00bb straight handle, it marks the prestige of entering the room.<\/p>\n<p>A small station with a<\/p>\n<p>A small station with counter to receive and offer coffee and other beverages accompanied by a small fridge, built-in wastebasket and storage cabinet have been harmoniously and discreetly set up! An air-conditioning unit was provided to offer comfort to occupants, given the abundant fenestration on 2 exterior walls. From the view through the front facade, 3 flagpoles stand proudly with the 3 flags representative of the company’s positioning, namely Canada, Quebec and Sayona!<\/p>\n<p>Distinctive furniture with maintenance-free, durable materials in a sleek, modern look act as the centerpiece occupying almost the entire space. This room, which can accommodate up to 14 people, is equipped with 2 giant televisions and all the technological equipment needed to connect remotely and meet with collaborators from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>A bespoke piece of furniture for the Sayona!<\/p>\n<p>A bespoke piece of furniture was designed with integrated LED lighting to showcase the geological cores that are the soul of the mines, and to display and provide a visual for investors. This furniture also provides a place to place promotional items to offer guests.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for the sake of presentations, retractable, superimposed world maps that can be moved around, raised and lowered as desired with the help of glass writing boards will provide all the necessary tools at hand for presentations and development at the height of the company.<\/p>\n<p>The design, choice of materials, layout, functionality according to specific needs, acoustic, visual, thermal and non-allergenic material comfort, position and comfort at chair levels…all these elements have been selected with global brand positioning in mind! AND to complete the modern, industrial look, green plants have been planted on the concrete columns for contact with nature, the organic and green energy. Being modest in size, we’ll be removing the wall-mounted heating units to clear the space. These will be replaced by a ceiling-mounted aero convector that will create a corridor of warmth.<\/p>\n<p>From the moment you arrive, there’s a conductive path represented by the differently colored flooring that leads to the upper floor. By closing off the wall at the top of each of the 3 doors, which will be brought up to date, this will create a unique reception area with a high ceiling.<\/p>\n<p>I had a lot of fun with this project.<\/p>\n<p>I had fun with the brainding to represent the company’s mindset. To the left of the entrance, we find the Sayonna logo, essential for identifying the premises, and straight ahead of us, a high-impact slogan: <em><u>Lib\u00e9rons L’Avenir<\/u><\/em>…..which continues with a thread to the right and the display of a car charging…to then direct our gaze to the right wall. This one will be fitted out with 10′ high Whiterock panels in gloss finish, with a flagship color that is blue and the integration of the logo: <em><u>Le lithium d’ici, charging the future<\/u><\/em> to show that you’re well established here! All enhanced by an LED strip above the panels to set off this sleek, modern mural that will mark your signature.<\/p>\n<p>To complete this space, lounge-style furnishings, modern, leather fabrics, aesthetically pleasing, easy-care with a reminder of the materials and colors as in the conference room, all to offer ergonomic seating. With the addition of small side tables for coffee or laptops, this uncluttered layout offers visitors a dynamic and convivial environment. Embellished with plants to nurture the connection between humans and nature, the whole is supported by an LED bar luminaire that represents today’s technology.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>STAIRCASE….<\/p>\n<p>Far from being a trivial place, this one is a passageway between the reception area and the gathering place upstairs. It offers the opportunity to provide a customer experience!<\/p>\n<p>This area with its darker hues gives personality and offers the experience of a passageway a bit like a mining shaft or a well. This layout will be won over by the dynamic play of light.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, stair nosings with photoluminescent markings will raise the level of safety for users in an innovative and lasting way.<\/p>\n<p>Next, to lose height cues and create the illusion of a well, a black stretched canvas is added to the ceiling of this 23\u2032-0\u00a0\u00bb high stairwell. All around the ceiling, an LED strip will offer an energetic visual in a linear motion.<\/p>\n<p>As a \u00a0\u00bbmaster piece\u00a0\u00bb, on the landing level and as the main lighting, a huge backlit mural depicting a mineral compound will draw guests in like a museum.<\/p>\n<p>Given the strong visual impact in this passageway, I avoided visually overloading the space. The feathers of Sayona’s logo are simply displayed on the left before you begin the ascent!<\/p>\n<p><p> <\/p>\n<p>LE CORRIDOR \u00c0 L’\u00c9TAGE….<\/p>\n<p>An obligatory refreshment, this one is simply the continuity of a place in the image of the company that represents the FUTURE!<\/p>\n<p>There’s a 3D version of the Sayona logo for an eye-catching visual as you step straight out of the stairwell.<\/p>\n<p>A directional movement is created by a play of color via the floor covering and invites you to head towards the conference room, which is clearly identified. Through the importance of the visual identity, this helps to ensure the company’s notoriety.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the floor coverings were designed to create a sense of direction.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the 20′ wall facing the conference room exit will exhibit a mural that will be the company’s showcase. Starting from history to reach the future, the graphic elements used will be well thought out by the marketing team to instantly assimilate the identity of a trusted company!<\/p>\n<p>On the right-hand side of the corridor, as you exit the stairwell, there’s an industrial-looking bathroom that packs a punch! A place to discover!<\/p>\n<p>Considering that in this first phase of renovation, water was not accessible via the conference room, I opted for an efficient solution by offering a water station. By moving the bathroom wall back 3′-5\u00a0\u00bb, I was able to create a \u00ab\u00a0WATER STATION\u00a0\u00bb zone. The aim was to allow access to water, to make coffee, wash cups, etc. – in short, everything for entertaining without disturbing and without having to do your chores directly in the bathroom. A simple water connection is made possible by the plumber! What’s more, any employees occupying the office space will find it functional and pleasant. This station occupies a space all its own with lots of personality in a sleek way!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>CONFERENCE ROOM….<\/p>\n<p>Where meetings are held, where business ties are forged, this space is a reflection of the company! It must live up to the company’s positioning on the world stage.<\/p>\n<p>The first step is to get to know the company.<\/p>\n<p>We start by enlarging the door, because the front door has to be prestigious, so we widen it to 42\u00a0\u00bb X 8′ high. We raise the ceiling to get the maximum height and instantly discover the industrial look through the exposed piping and all the ceiling painted black.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure sound comfort and avoid reverberation, acoustic panels suspended from the ceiling will interlock in a linear movement.<\/p>\n<p>Already in place, 2 walls of abundant fenestration allow contact with nature and the sun to be maintained. Simply by changing the thermostats and adding a ventilation unit, it will be very simple to ensure the comfort of the occupants for the benefit of all. A little freshening up of the window frames in black will give a modern look in keeping with the concept. Through the windows, guests will have the chance to observe 3 flags (Sayona, Quebec, Canada) via the strategically positioned flagpoles, which complement the company’s branding and positioning.<\/p>\n<p>The decorative columns will feature the company’s own logo.<\/p>\n<p>Industrial-look decorative columns with plants offer a sensory interaction connected with nature for a healthy and soothing environment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>A small coffee corner with fridge and waste garbage can is proposed as a \u00a0\u00bbSERVICE\u00a0\u00bb station to offer beverages to guests. In this proposal, there is no sink, it’s a small 42\u00a0\u00bb unit that allows entertaining. The coffee is prepared beforehand at the WATER station in the corridor in complete tranquillity.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>Writing windows, overlapping world maps as work tools facilitate interactive presentations.<\/p>\n<p>Beneath the 2 86″ televisions that occupy all the space on the west wall, a bespoke presentation cabinet will display the material to be exhibited. Purpose-designed sliding drawers will showcase these precious geological cores, which will be enhanced by a strip of LED lighting. On either side of these drawers there will be storage space to arrange promotional items as well as technological equipment to ensure smooth operation and IT logistics during meetings.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>High-end furniture! The F\u00c9NIX surface conference table offers an elegant proposition that combines performance and aesthetics. FLOTEX has received a surface treatment to repel water and dirt. Being modest in size, we’ll be removing the wall-mounted heating units to clear the space. These will be replaced by a ceiling-mounted aero convector that will create a corridor of warmth.<\/p>\n<p>From the moment you arrive, there’s a conductive path represented by the differently colored flooring that leads to the upper floor. To the left of the entrance, we find the Sayona logo, essential for identifying the premises, and straight ahead of us, a high-impact slogan: <em><u>Lib\u00e9rons L’Avenir<\/u><\/em>…..which continues with a thread to the right and the display of a car charging…to then direct our gaze to the right wall. This one will be fitted out with 10′ high Whiterock panels in gloss finish, with a flagship color that is blue and the integration of the logo: <em><u>Le lithium d’ici, charging the future<\/u><\/em> to show that you’re well established here! All enhanced by an LED strip above the panels to set off this sleek, modern mural that will mark your signature.<\/p>\n<p>To complete this space, lounge-style furnishings, modern, leather fabrics, aesthetically pleasing, easy-care with a reminder of the materials and colors as in the conference room, all to offer ergonomic seating. With the addition of small side tables for coffee or laptops, this uncluttered layout offers visitors a dynamic and convivial environment. This layout will be won over by the dynamic play of light.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, stair nosings with photoluminescent markings will raise the level of safety for users in an innovative and lasting way.<\/p>\n<p>Next, to lose height cues and create the illusion of a well, a black stretched canvas is added to the ceiling of this 23\u2032-0\u00a0\u00bb high stairwell. The aim was to allow access to water, to make coffee, wash cups, etc. – in short, everything for entertaining without disturbing and without having to do your chores directly in the bathroom. A simple water connection is made possible by the plumber! What’s more, any employees occupying the office space will find it functional and pleasant. This station occupies a space all its own with lots of personality in a sleek way!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>CONFERENCE ROOM….<\/p>\n<p>Where meetings are held, where business ties are forged, this space is a reflection of the company! It must live up to the company’s positioning on the world stage.<\/p>\n<p>The first step is to get to know the company.<\/p>\n<p>We start by enlarging the door, because the front door has to be prestigious, so we widen it to 42\u00a0\u00bb X 8′ high. We raise the ceiling to get the maximum height and instantly discover the industrial look through the exposed piping and all the ceiling painted black.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure sound comfort and avoid reverberation, acoustic panels suspended from the ceiling will interlock in a linear movement.<\/p>\n<p>Already in place, 2 walls of abundant fenestration allow contact with nature and the sun to be maintained. Purpose-designed sliding drawers will showcase these precious geological cores, which will be enhanced by a strip of LED lighting. Considering that for this initial phase and for the first year of occupancy, only the common areas for receiving guests will be used on an ad hoc basis, and therefore no full-time employees will remain on site. To receive guests properly and solidly, it took a simple reception area to make guests wait before going upstairs.<\/p>\n<p>The great challenge of renovating in phases is to make an exceptional place while having many unrenovated sections that will only be done in phase 2. A clever trick to delineate distinct zones and keep the areas that will be renovated in phase 2 visually out of the way.<\/p>\n<p>However, we’ve been able to make the most of this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, we were able to make a few minor structural modifications such as plumbing, electricity, ventilation, window replacement, water station add at corridor level and dismantling of the suspended ceiling. The electrical system will have to be brought up to current standards, which requires some basic modifications before adding value through new lighting. Bien \u00e9videmment, quand on travaille un dossier d\u2019importance de positionnement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondial et d\u2019importance en capital, cela dirige le s\u00e9rieux de l\u2019am\u00e9nagement dans sa globalit\u00e9 et invite l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 se positionner comme leader sur le march\u00e9. \u00c0 cet effet, il fallait li\u00e9e l\u2019espace d\u2019accueil du rez-de-chauss\u00e9e \u00e0 la salle de conf\u00e9rence situ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tage, donc la cage d\u2019escalier, le corridor de l\u2019\u00e9tage, les salles de toilettes ainsi que toutes les fonctionnalit\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 scrut\u00e9 \u00e0 la loupe afin d\u2019offrir une v\u00e9ritable exp\u00e9rience aux collaborateurs et investisseurs.<\/p>\n<p>Partant d\u2019un b\u00e2timent fond\u00e9 en 1982 d\u2019une superficie de 20 000 m2 avec une portion bureau et une portion usine \u00e0 transformer, les d\u00e9fis \u00e9taient nombreux pour cr\u00e9er un lieu d\u2019appartenance et de positionnement d\u2019entreprise cr\u00e9atrice du futur tout en int\u00e9grant les lieux de fa\u00e7on graduelle. Consid\u00e9rant que pour cette phase initiale et pour la premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e d\u2019occupation, seuls les lieux communs pour recevoir les invit\u00e9s seront utilis\u00e9s de fa\u00e7on ponctuelle et donc, aucun employ\u00e9 \u00e0 temps pleins demeurera sur place. Pour recevoir de fa\u00e7on appropri\u00e9e et solide, \u00e7a prenait un simple lieu d\u2019accueil pour faire patienter les convives avant de monter \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tage.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>La zone accueil<\/u><\/strong> \u00e0 elle seule comportait plusieurs d\u00e9fis, puisque cette zone \u00e9tait le point de rencontre de 3 corridors, donc plut\u00f4t un lieu de passage pour se diriger vers la sortie. Afin de cr\u00e9er une zone distincte, nous avons ferm\u00e9 les portes des 4 corridors adjacents, enlever le plafond suspendu de la zone accueil pour aller chercher 4\u2019 de hauteur suppl\u00e9mentaire et cr\u00e9er un espace au look industriel. Tout le design \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 mis de l\u2019avant par le choix de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e9pur\u00e9, moderne, haute technologique et en refl\u00e9tant l\u2019image de la compagnie comme l\u2019\u00e9nergie du futur!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>La cage d\u2019escalier<\/u><\/strong> \u00e9tant le premier passage qui invite les gens \u00e0 se diriger \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tage, ce lieu se devait d\u2019\u00eatre exceptionnel. Haut de 23\u2019-0\u2019\u2019, l\u2019id\u00e9e de faire vivre une exp\u00e9rience client \u00e0 l\u2019image d\u2019une mine a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis de l\u2019avant! Comme un shaft minier ou un puit, la sobri\u00e9t\u00e9 et les couleurs sombres ont domin\u00e9 ce lieu de passage. Des points lumineux directionnels ins\u00e9rer de fa\u00e7on strat\u00e9gique ont la fonctionnalit\u00e9 de diriger les gens de fa\u00e7on s\u00e9curitaire. Au palier central, une immense toile r\u00e9tro\u00e9clair\u00e9e d\u2019un min\u00e9ral, sert de principale source d\u2019\u00e9clairage telle une exposition dans un mus\u00e9e!<\/p>\n<p>Une toile tendue noire au plafond avec un pourtour de LED suit l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9 du concept pour perdre la perception des rep\u00e8res et ainsi se sentir dans un environnement exclusif! De plus, les lignes continues des LED sont en concordance avec le concept de fil conducteur de la compagnie repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par leur logo et slogan!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Le corridor de l\u2019\u00e9tage<\/u><\/strong>\u2026.un passage oblig\u00e9 pour se diriger vers la salle de conf\u00e9rence. Un rafra\u00eechissement s\u2019imposait et quelques petites modifications structurelles mineures pour adapter un espace de station d\u2019eau \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire pour le c\u00f4t\u00e9 fonctionnel. L\u2019identification marketing est au premier rang pour rendre les longs corridors ennuyeux en un lieu de positionnement. Le brainding de l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par une ligne de temps afin de voir rapidement l\u2019enchainement d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements d\u2019une p\u00e9riode donn\u00e9e et voir o\u00f9 l\u2019entreprise s\u2019en va! Le rev\u00eatement de plancher souple muni de cristaux de pierre, se dessine en 2 couleurs pour cr\u00e9er une direction et inviter naturellement les gens \u00e0 aller vers la salle de conf\u00e9rence.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>La salle des toilettes<\/u><\/strong>\u2026anciennement un espace d\u00e9suet constitu\u00e9 d\u2019une toilette, une douche et un espace vestiaire, une transformation s\u2019imposait pour adapter l\u2019environnement!<\/p>\n<p>Les invit\u00e9s distingu\u00e9s, tout comme les cadres de l\u2019entreprise pourront utiliser cet endroit soign\u00e9 et fonctionnel pour prolonger l\u2019exp\u00e9rience qui refl\u00e8te le mindset de Sayona! Pour ce faire, le choix des mat\u00e9riaux moderne et sans entretien a \u00e9t\u00e9 finement s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 dans un am\u00e9nagement \u00e0 la hauteur de la compagnie.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>La salle de conf\u00e9rence<\/u><\/strong>\u2026LE LIEU OFFICIEL pour recevoir\u2026investisseurs, collaborateurs, journalistes, distingu\u00e9s invit\u00e9s et lieu de rencontres pour les dirigeants de l\u2019entreprise, celle-ci se devait d\u2019\u00eatre fi\u00e8rement repr\u00e9sent\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Bien que l\u2019espace soit de taille modeste, les d\u00e9fis organisationnelles s\u2019imposaient! On a commenc\u00e9 par agrandir la hauteur du plafond pour aller chercher 4\u2019 suppl\u00e9mentaire. Une unit\u00e9 de climatisation a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9vu pour offrir le confort aux occupants \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 la fenestration abondante sur 2 murs ext\u00e9rieurs. De la vue par la fa\u00e7ade avant, 3 m\u00e2ts se rel\u00e8vent fi\u00e8rement avec les 3 drapeaux repr\u00e9sentatifs du positionnement de l\u2019entreprise, soit Canada, Qu\u00e9bec et Sayona!<\/p>\n<p>Le mobilier distinctif avec des mat\u00e9riaux sans entretien et durable dans un look \u00e9pur\u00e9 et moderne font office de pi\u00e8ce maitresse occupant presque tout l\u2019espace. Cette salle pouvant accueillir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 14 personnes, s\u2019est muni de 2 t\u00e9l\u00e9viseurs g\u00e9ants ainsi que toute l\u2019\u00e9quipement technologique afin de se connecter \u00e0 distance et faire des rencontres avec les collaborateurs de partout dans le monde.<\/p>\n<p>Un meuble sur mesure a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u avec lumi\u00e8re DEL int\u00e9grer pour mettre en valeur les carottes g\u00e9ologiques qui constituent l\u2019\u00e2me des mini\u00e8res et pour exposer et offrir un visuel aux investisseurs. In March 2023, the complex began production of spodumene to meet the growing demand for batteries in North America.<\/p>\n<p>Sayona is a company dedicated to the exploration and development of lithium deposits, the raw material used in the manufacture of electric batteries. The company is developing various projects, all of which are located in Quebec. In particular, it owns the Lithium North America complex, which went into production in the spring of 2023. The complex will become a centerpiece of the lithium cluster it hopes to establish in Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue.<\/p>\n<p>In Sayona’s development projects, the project to acquire an old wood mill to turn it into a new infrastructure for the 2nd transformation of lithium spodumen into electric batteries has been put forward.<\/p>\n<p>The designer’s first mandate was to fabricate the cohesion of a living space in a building that will be gradually inhabited, and to position the company’s brand image in this new space. The first two motivations: to receive investors and hold press conferences in an official location with global positioning! And the ultimate goal being the 2<sup>th<\/sup> transformation plant in the making annexed to the offices to enable Sayona’s positioning as a leader, notably through the creation of jobs and investments that will stimulate the development of Quebec’s clean energy sector, from mining to the production of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the mission was to provide a reception area and a conference room. Obviously, when you’re working on a project of global positioning and capital importance, it directs the seriousness of the overall fit-out and invites the company to position itself as a market leader. To this end, the reception area on the first floor had to be linked to the conference room upstairs, so the stairwell, upstairs corridor, washrooms and all functionalities were scrutinized to offer a true experience for employees and investors.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with a building founded in 1982 with a surface area of 20,000 m2 with an office portion and a factory portion to be transformed, the challenges were numerous to create a place of belonging and positioning as a creative company of the future while integrating the premises gradually. Considering that for this initial phase and for the first year of occupancy, only the common areas for receiving guests will be used on an ad hoc basis, and therefore no full-time employees will remain on site. To receive guests properly and solidly, it took a simple reception area to make guests wait before going upstairs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The reception area<\/u><\/strong> alone presented several challenges, since this zone was the meeting point of 4 corridors, so rather a place to pass through on the way to the exit. To create a distinct zone, we closed the doors to the 4 adjacent corridors, removed the suspended ceiling in the reception area and added 4′ of extra height to create a space with an industrial look. The entire design was brought to the fore by the choice of sleek, modern, high-tech materials and by reflecting the company’s image as the energy of the future!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The stairwell<\/u><\/strong> being the first passageway that invites people to head upstairs, this place had to be exceptional. At 23′-0\u00a0\u00bb high, the idea of creating a customer experience in the image of a mine was put forward! Like a mining shaft or a well, sobriety and dark colors dominated this place of passage. Strategically inserted directional light points have the functionality of safely directing people. On the central landing, a huge canvas backlit with a mineral, serves as the main source of illumination like an exhibition in a museum!<\/p>\n<p>A black stretched canvas on the ceiling with an LED surround follows the integrity of the concept to lose the perception of landmarks and thus feel in an exclusive environment! What’s more, the continuous lines of the LEDs are in keeping with the company’s common thread concept represented by their logo and slogan!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The upstairs corridor<\/u><\/strong>\u2026.an obligatory passageway on the way to the conference room. A refreshment was needed, and a few minor structural modifications to adapt a water station space was necessary for the functional side. Marketing identification is at the forefront of turning long, boring corridors into a place for positioning. The company’s brainding has been represented by a timeline, so that you can clearly see the sequence of events in a given period and see where the company is going! The flexible floor covering, featuring stone crystals, is patterned in 2 colors to create direction and naturally invite people towards the conference room.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The washroom<\/u><\/strong>\u2026formerly an outdated space consisting of a toilet, shower and checkroom area, a transformation was needed to adapt the environment!<\/p>\n<p>Distinguished guests and company executives alike will be able to use this neat, functional space to extend the experience that reflects the Sayona mindset! To achieve this, the choice of modern, maintenance-free materials has been finely selected in a layout befitting the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The conference room<\/u><\/strong>\u2026THE OFFICIAL PLACE to receive\u2026investors, collaborators, journalists, distinguished guests and meeting place for the company’s executives, this one had to be proudly represented.<\/p>\n<p>Although the space was modest in size, the organizational challenges were obvious! We started by enlarging the ceiling height to an additional 4′. A carefully organized, industrial-look ceiling painted black, accompanied by acoustic tiles to manage noise reverberation. The entrance door was also designed to be majestic, going from a standard opening to the maximum that could be achieved, i.e. 42\u00a0\u00bb on a ceiling\/floor height! Fitted with a 36\u00a0\u00bb straight handle, it marks the prestige of entering the room.<\/p>\n<p>A small station with a<\/p>\n<p>A small station with counter to receive and offer coffee and other beverages accompanied by a small fridge, built-in wastebasket and storage cabinet have been harmoniously and discreetly set up! An air-conditioning unit was provided to offer comfort to occupants, given the abundant fenestration on 2 exterior walls. From the view through the front facade, 3 flagpoles stand proudly with the 3 flags representative of the company’s positioning, namely Canada, Quebec and Sayona!<\/p>\n<p>Distinctive furniture with maintenance-free, durable materials in a sleek, modern look act as the centerpiece occupying almost the entire space. This room, which can accommodate up to 14 people, is equipped with 2 giant televisions and all the technological equipment needed to connect remotely and meet with collaborators from all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>A bespoke piece of furniture for the Sayona!<\/p>\n<p>A bespoke piece of furniture was designed with integrated LED lighting to showcase the geological cores that are the soul of the mines, and to display and provide a visual for investors. This furniture also provides a place to place promotional items to offer guests.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for the sake of presentations, retractable, superimposed world maps that can be moved around, raised and lowered as desired with the help of glass writing boards will provide all the necessary tools at hand for presentations and development at the height of the company.<\/p>\n<p>The design, choice of materials, layout, functionality according to specific needs, acoustic, visual, thermal and non-allergenic material comfort, position and comfort at chair levels\u2026all these elements have been selected with global brand positioning in mind! AND to complete the modern, industrial look, green plants have been planted on the concrete columns for contact with nature, the organic and green energy.
