Symbole de lenteur, l\u2019univers des tortues fait l\u2019objet d\u2019un atelier participatif afin d\u2019impliquer des enfants de l\u2019\u00e9cole St-Bernardin dans l\u2019univers graphique du lieu. Des dessins de tortues cr\u00e9\u00e9s par les jeunes utilisateurs du chemin sont reproduits sur des pochoirs et grav\u00e9s \u00e0 m\u00eame le sentier de b\u00e9ton, au jet de sable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le jeu libre \u00e0 l\u2019honneur<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le chemin des tortues permet aux enfants de parcourir le site pour se rendre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole et tout au long du sentier, des \u00e9l\u00e9ments invitent \u00e0 jouer. Un marquage au sol, \u00e9voquant l\u2019\u00e9cume affleurant les plages, cr\u00e9e un courant et marque des zones ludiques. Des espaces engazonn\u00e9s viennent \u00e9largir le sentier et permettre d\u2019explorer les buttes et les surfaces v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9es. Sur les plages, passer de pierre en pierre permet de tester ses limites. Au sol, les tortues invitent \u00e0 sauter d\u2019une \u00e0 l\u2019autre ou encore de jouer \u00e0 reconnaitre la sienne. Located close to an elementary school, this corridor allows children to walk and wheel to school, through an attractive, playful and safe transit space.<\/p>\n<p>Designed on the site\u2019s strengths, this green and shaded route takes shape on three island heads. Natural vegetated knolls planted with trees are formed, providing relief from the boulevard. A new topography is established, and a path is embedded in it. Winding between the mounds, this concrete path rises on either side of the terrain, creating beaches overlaid with stones that invite to wander the space dynamically.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citizen participation in co-creating the space<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This place conducive to soft mobility takes inspiration from the world of turtles. Symbolizing slowness, the universe of turtles is the subject of a participatory workshop to involve children from St-Bernardin school in the graphic universe of the place. Turtle drawings created by the path\u2019s young users are reproduced on stencils and sandblasted into the concrete surface.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Free play in the spotlight<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The turtle path allows children to walk through the site on their way to school, and elements invite to play all along the path. Design street paintings, evoking foam on beaches, create the continuity of the flow and mark play zones. Grassed areas widen the path and let to explore the mounds and vegetated surfaces. Jumping from stone to stone on the beaches, allows one to test their limits. On the ground, turtles invite you to step from one to another, or to play at recognizing your own.
