So we wanted to avoid the clich\u00e9s of the category, facilitate understanding and position Therm\u00eba&#8217;s Canadian character. What&#8217;s more, with its vast surface area, Therm\u00eba requires very intuitive navigation. Visitors had to be able to move around easily and independently, hence the need for a brand identity that provided clear signage. Finally, Groupe Nordik, which already owns other spas including the well-known Chelsea Spa, wanted Therm\u00eba&#8217;s identity to be in harmony with that of its other establishments, while at the same time having its own personality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Design<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We integrated the notion of the village into the heart of the identity. The Therm\u00eba logo hides a house at its center, symbolizing the village. This house is used as the main icon of the brand, notably as a pointer in a wayfinding context. As for the name &#8220;Therm\u00eba&#8221;, it was chosen for several reasons. It obviously evokes temperature, the central component of the spa&#8217;s offering. Visually, the &#8220;T&#8221;, a short version of the logo, becomes our temperature symbol when necessary, visually reinforcing the importance of thermotherapy and helping to guide visitors through the thermal cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the initial design, it was important for the village to feel lived-in from day one, as if it had always been part of the scenery. Many people still have in mind the stereotypes of the \u00ab\u00a0Zen\u00a0\u00bb spa or even the beauty salon. So we wanted to avoid the clich\u00e9s of the category, facilitate understanding and position Therm\u00eba\u2019s Canadian character. What\u2019s more, with its vast surface area, Therm\u00eba requires very intuitive navigation. Visitors had to be able to move around easily and independently, hence the need for a brand identity that provided clear signage. Finally, Groupe Nordik, which already owns other spas including the well-known Chelsea Spa, wanted Therm\u00eba\u2019s identity to be in harmony with that of its other establishments, while at the same time having its own personality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Design<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We integrated the notion of the village into the heart of the identity. The Therm\u00eba logo hides a house at its center, symbolizing the village. This house is used as the main icon of the brand, notably as a pointer in a wayfinding context. As for the name \u00ab\u00a0Therm\u00eba\u00a0\u00bb, it was chosen for several reasons. It obviously evokes temperature, the central component of the spa\u2019s offering. Visually, the \u00ab\u00a0T\u00a0\u00bb, a short version of the logo, becomes our temperature symbol when necessary, visually reinforcing the importance of thermotherapy and helping to guide visitors through the thermal cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the initial design, it was important for the village to feel lived-in from day one as if it had always been part of the scenery. This led to the idea of integrating into the site a mix of recycled materials such as wood, railroad rails, stones and bricks from old heritage buildings built earlier in the same park. These materials enabled us to deploy the brand in space in a variety of ways, using etching, pyrography, paint, chalk and other methods.
