A program of winter and summer works integrating multimedia technologies, thus alternate over the seasons and make the place a cultural destination.<\/p>\n<p>This project is a demonstration that green technologies can be an engine to create landscapes or moments of beauty in urban life and experience. It fueled the design process for the public square and also inspired EN TEMPS ET LIEU, the winner of the 2022 public art competition, inspired by cloud formations.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Structure for suspended art works<\/p>\n<p>A permanent structure gives the possibility of renewing the work according to a given program and according to the seasons. The structure of the posts is anchored on buried concrete bases, concealed by the planting of perennials on the surface. Electrical connections integrated into the structure offer multiple possibilities for technological works. These suspended structures also provide light shade on the square during the years when new trees are planted.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Summer hanging art work<\/p>\n<p>IN TIME AND PLACE wins the competition and creates the work \u00a0\u00ab Partiellement nuageux avec une forte probabilit\u00e9 de \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\u00a0\u00bbwow\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\u00a0\u00bb ! \u00bb. A hybrid concept, which is between nature and urbanity, organic and technology, light and shadow, meteorological science and popular beliefs about weather. The work emphasizes the theme of the water cycle, so a cubic cloud floats above the square, evoking a horizon. The wispy cumulus gently filters light to form shaded areas that slowly move with the movement of the sun. At night, a completely different experience is revealed to users: the installation is connected in real time to its environment: the lighting changes according to the actual weather: heat wave, storm, rain, bright sunshine, etc. The work is lit in a palette of shimmering colors, specific to each of the weather scenarios announced.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>Winter hanging art work<\/p>\n<p>Created in 2020 by a collaboration between EN TEMPS ET LIEU and Odace Events, the artistic installation \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\u00a0\u00bbElement\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\u00a0\u00bb has been brought to the site every winter since and shines in 2023 in the new design of the esplanade. The work wraps the space in its warm, organic light and gives the illusion of warmth. Combining art, light and technology, the work is inspired by the incandescence of the filament of a light bulb to evoke, to the rhythm of its pulsations, the intensity of the current which passes from one person to another. The project thus combines ecological performance with the creation of a high-quality landscape experience and marks the beginning of a new way of imagining public space.<\/p>\n<p>The square is said to be resilient because it goes beyond the on-site stormwater management and also manages the water of its extended urban perimeter.
